Jungle Jam in Brazil Review and Giveaway

Last year we were lucky enough to review Jungle Jam – the first book. Now we have been given the chance to have a read through Jungle Jam in Brazil.

Now baby girl is 16 months old she is really taking an interest in what books are, she enjoys turning the pages and listening to my voice as I’m reading to her.

Jungle Jam in Brazil is perfect for this with its rhyming phrases and wonderful words.

Alternative Ways To Get Active Without Going To The Gym

Now I just want to say that I’ve never been much of a gym bunny. To be honest I can’t think of anything worse than going to the gym seeing sweaty bodies grunting and straining away, I would rather go on walks, or hikes out in the fresh air. Don’t get me wrong, if going to the gym is your thing, I have nothing against it, it’s just not my cup of tea.

gym - alternative ways to get active

I have friends who are proper hardcore gym bunnies, going to classes at least one a day sometimes two! Spinning away on their little bikes. Good for them getting something out of it. In fact I do admire their commitment to keeping fit and active. I do wish sometimes I had more time to get out and get active myself, but it’s not possible with a clingy 16 month old at the moment and other work commitments.

The Mothers of Lovely Lane Blog Tour – Review and Giveaway

Last year I was on the blog tour for The Children of Lovely Lane by Nadine Dorries, so I’m excited to be back for the tour for The Mothers of Lovely Lane. On this tour I’m reviewing the book plus hosting a giveaway for a copy, which you will find the details for much further down.

Firstly here is a bit about The Mothers of Lovely Lane.

The Mothers of Lovely Lane

Book Description

Noleen Delaney is one of an army of night cleaners at St Angelus hospital in Liverpool. Since her husband was injured in the war, she has supported her five children. With help from her eldest, Bryan – a porter’s lad – the family just about gets by.

When Finn, her youngest, passes the eleven plus exam, Noleen feels faint. Allowing Finn to attend the grammar will stretch her purse too far.

When Bryan steps in to help, the results rock the St Angelus community. As the nurses of Lovely Lane near their final exams, Noleen will find herself tested, and her heart broken. Just how far can a mother’s love stretch?

The Salvation Project Blog Tour – Guest Post

Today I’m on the blog tour for The Salvation Project by Stuart Ross. Stuart has kindly written a guest post for me to share with all of you.

First let me share with you a little bit about the book..

The Salvation Project

Book Description

Humanity’s hope of salvation lies within a single laptop…

A mutation in human DNA means no one lives beyond nineteen. Scientists working to reverse this pandemic died before their Salvation Project was complete, leaving behind the results of their research in a sealed vault – the Soterion.

122 years have passed. The civilisation of the ‘Long Dead’ is almost forgotten, the Soterion has been burned to ashes, and communities of Constants are tormented by brutal tribes of Zeds. Cyrus, Miouda and Sammy flee their burning city with a laptop rescued from the inferno. They believe it contains the key to the Salvation Project. But its batteries are dead, there is no electricity to power it, and murderous Zeds will stop at nothing to get it back…

Sending a Special Gift To a Loved One

What do you buy for a sister’s 40th birthday that lives overseas? I want it to be a special gift as you only turn 40 once, but of course it can’t really be breakable and something that is allowed to fly to that country.

It’s gonna be weird not seeing my sister on such a special birthday, it was the same a few years back when I had my 30th. We are very close, always have been but it’s hard when you live over 3000 miles apart in different time zones. When we do see each other we catch up as if we saw each other only yesterday.
