#MySundayPhoto 28/06/2015

Over the past few Sunday’s I have really enjoyed going back over our Canadian Holiday photo’s and picking out ones to share with you. I cannot believe it was five years ago today we drove from Cornwall up to Gatwick on the start of our holiday of a lifetime. It seems like only yesterday.
This photo was taken from the top of the CN Tower in Toronto. It was a breathtakingly hot still day with amazing weather. The city view was stunning, not something a country Cornish girl like me is used to!

Latest Competition Wins

I know it’s been a while since I posted any of my competition wins, but it has been a very slow month. Sometimes this happens, but it makes me even more determined to enter lots more.
This lovely tea I won from Twitter with Redbush, it’s perfect for that relaxing afternoon cuppa.

I was pleasantly surprised to win this cute little cereal bowl complete with a bottle of honey. My mum loves honey, so this will make a lovely little gift for her.
I won this lovely box of gorgeous beauty bits from Lets Talk Beauty on Twitter. I think having a little card popped in the box made it very personalised and so thoughtful. I am going to share some of the bits out with my sisters.

I hope you have all been very lucky lately, I love to hear what your recent wins are?

Carrying on with my Canadian themed #MySundayPhoto from the previous few weeks, I wanted to show you this beautiful lift lock in Peterborough, Ontario. Peterborough is situated on the Otonabee river in cental Ontario.
We were lucky enough to travel up the lift lock on a little ferry boat, on a really gorgeous summer’s day.

Book Review: Green Beans and Summer Dreams by Catherine Ferguson

As soon as I saw the title of this book Green Beans and Summer Dreams by Catherine Ferguson, I knew I would love to read it. With Green Beans in the title I knew it would involve gardening of some sort, and I wasn’t wrong.
I requested to read this book from NetGalley, due to the title only, before I even read the description. I am so glad I was successful. Due to it being an ebook, I’m afraid you will have to make do with another picture of my trusty Kindle! It is getting quite a few shots in these days.

Book Description

When Izzy Fraser’s long-term boyfriend walks out on her, she’s left in a bit of a pickle. Yes, she has the house of her dreams, but she now has a crippling mortgage to pay on her own.

So she takes matters into her own hands and, having always been a keen gardener, decides to set up Izzy’s Organics, delivering crates of fresh fruit and vegetables to local villagers.

Along the way she meets all sorts of characters, including the very handsome Erik and the very Grumpy Dan. But can Izzy sort the wheat from the chaff? And will her new business sow the seeds of change that she wants?

The main character in this book is Izzy Fraser, she gets dumped by her cheating boyfriend and has to start making money to pay the mortgage on her gorgeous little house that she inherited from her Aunt. Izzy knows nothing about growing vegetables but she is very determined to start her own vegetable delivery box business, and somehow make her land pay for itself.
Along the way Izzy has the help of her best friends Anna and Jess and the attention of Erik and Dan. There are lots of other characters in this book as well that you will grow to love.
A beautifully written perfect summer holiday read that will leave you laughing and cringing in places for poor Izzy.
I have given Green Beans and Summer Dreams by Catherine Ferguson 5 out of 5 stars.

#MySundayPhoto 14/06/2015

While we were in Canada nearly 5 years ago, we came across a little pioneer village, that was free to enter. It made a lovely day out for us as there was lots of things to do and demonstrations to watch.
This is one of my favourite photo’s of the quaint little wooden houses that were there. It was a beautiful hot summer’s day.
