The one word that sums up my week for Word of the Week is Hot.
It’s very humid and hot by night and so my husband finds it hard to sleep. He’s what I call a hot bod and has a high normal body temperature so is always hot even in Winter. I’m the total opposite to him and feel the cold pretty easily. But this week does seem to be really hot overnight.
I have one of those Gro Eggs in our bedroom as baby girl sleeps in the same room as us by night. So it’s really good to keep an eye on the temperature for her and so we know what to dress her in over night. I wrote a post on Night-Time when baby girl was just a few weeks old. But that was when the weather was a lot cooler.

The word that sums up my week is Fussy. I have one little fussy 14 week old baby on my hands this week. Bless her she doesn’t cry just fusses. Her bottom lip comes out and it’s so cute.
Word of the Week - Fussy

She has begun her teething journey. We have been going through numerous bibs a day covered in drool. She chews like crazy on her hands and Sophie the Teething Giraffe. She is just little miss fussy pants this week. We have been having lots of cuddles so I haven’t been able to get a lot done at all this week.

Sophie the Teething Giraffe

Also this week has been a complete turnaround for baby girls sleep pattern. We have been having 6-7 hours sleep for a few weeks. It’s been glorious for me! But now fussy baby girl has been waking at least 3x a night. Like I said before she doesn’t cry, just makes her fussy noises. I pick her up and give her a little dream feed and off she goes back to sleep again. It’s very tiring and draining.
A few weeks back I heard about an app called The Wonder Weeks and it tells you when your baby is going through her mental development and growth leaps. Baby girl is in one of her leaps now so that explains her fussiness. She is in leap 4 at the moment where the little red baby head is shown in the picture below, and lasts for another 23 days!. This leap is known as the World of Events

The Wonder Weeks App

After this leap she will be able to perceive smooth transitions with her senses. Like grasping with her hands. This is completely correct as she picked my glasses off my face yesterday and threw them on the floor! She has also started to react to her name and is always looking to see where her dad or I am. These are all new developments.
So there you have the one word that sums up my week – Fussy.

I hope you have all had a better week than me!

Have a great weekend.

This week I have chosen Cornwall as my Word of the Week. The reason I have chosen Cornwall is because it’s one of the most beautiful places in the country to live. I know I’m biased but I just cannot help it. I love to appreciate the natural beauty surrounding me everyday. So looking back through my blog pictures over the past year I have presented you with some of the best.
Today is a lovely hot sunny day which actually made me think of writing up this post for you. These photos were all took within a few miles of where I live. I feel lucky to be on maternity leave this Summer to enjoy Cornwall at it’s best.

Here we are again! It’s Friday! Happy Friday! I hope you all have that Friday feeling especially as it’s a bank holiday weekend! I know I’ve got the Friday feeling as it means we get 3 whole days of family time. We don’t plan on doing too much this weekend – I really need to do some housework though! My husband deserves a relaxing weekend as he’s had a tiresome week.
On Wednesday he had to drive to Bristol for an all day meeting, which if you live in Cornwall that means a 3 hour drive there and back the same day. Plus he still had to get up at 5:20am the next day for work again. It’s hard for him with an 11 week old baby as well that wakes up for her dream feeds at 4am. So I plan on giving him a nice chilled out weekend where he can sit and watch the Russian Grand Prix on Sunday afternoon.
So now that it’s the end of another week it’s time to find one word that sums up the week I’ve had.
This weeks word of the week is Planning
Word of the Week - Planning 29/04/2016

This week has been a big planning week for me, that’s why I’m using it as my Word of the Week.
I have been planning lots of different blog posts. From book reviews, to a fashion post and of course a few baby posts thrown in.
In terms of my blog for planning, this week has been my biggest week yet for being contacted by brands for reviews. I have had quite a few, so I’ve been a busy bee planning what to post where and when. I’m so excited!!!
Another thing I’ve been planning for is to take up the blogging everyday in May challenge run by rosalilium. There is a calender on her link up which you can use for topics each day to write about, or you can use your own. I will most likely be using my own topics unless I get stuck!
I took up blogging everyday (#BEDM) in May last year and only managed to miss two posts! This year I want to complete it!
I’m fairly confident I can achieve this, as this month I’ve only missed a couple of days of blogging and I’m sure good planning will see me through.
Onto a bit of personal planning. My husband and I have have also decided in 6 years time to have the holiday of a lifetime at Disneyland, Florida. It will be for his 40th and baby girls 6th birthdays. We decided to start planning how much we can save and put it in a separate little account. I know if we don’t start saving a bit each month we will get stuck when the time comes. The thing is, we are also planning on moving in those years between as well, that’s why we decided we needed a separate holiday fund pot. I love to plan ahead for things!
I hope you have all had a good week.
Have a great bank holiday weekend and hopefully the weather will be nice!

A Cornish Mum

Another Friday is here, where are the weeks going? Baby girl will be 11 weeks old on Monday – It’s crazy! We are finally getting into our little Routine, with each other. When my husband goes of to work in the mornings at 5:30 am baby girl has a little feed then a sleep till about 8 am. Between 7 and 8 am I get myself ready and can finally squeeze in a shower! and I also check my emails and write a few tweets. 8 am – 9am is baby girl’s feeding and changing time. Then by 9 o’clock we are ready to go out if we need to, or I will get her settled on her play mat while I draft up some blog posts.
Word of the Week - Routine

My baby girl might only have about 2 naps during the day, she is a very active baby and quite nosey, so I’m sure she thinks she missing out if she falls asleep! I don’t mind though as she sleeps lovely by night.
Her bedtime Routine consists of a bath if its bath night. I don’t believe in bathing babies each night as their skin is very delicate and sensitive. Then I massage her with Johnson’s Bedtime baby lotion, it’s amazing stuff! The smell is gorgeous and makes her very relaxed with the calming aroma. I even use some on myself!

Next she has her bedtime feed. I do this with the lights dimmed and it calms her right down. She almost always falls asleep on her last feed, so I gently burp her after, and keep her upright on my lap for about half an hour before I put her down. I find if I don’t keep her upright she gets agitated. I believe this is from when she used to suffer from reflux, which thankfully seems to have disappeared now!.
So the one Word that sums up my Week is Routine
I hope you have all had a lovely week.
