When I was younger I remember my older sister getting a lava lamp for Christmas. It was the most wonderful thing ever. I used to stare at it for ages watching the molten wax rising up and falling down. Over the years I haven’t really thought about getting a lava lamp myself, although I would love one!

When the lovely people at Mathmos contacted me about the release of their new lava lamp called the Neo, I thought fantastic! My chance to finally have my own lava lamp, and to really explore how they work. Lava lamps are a beautiful work of science.

Now I know baby girl is only 8 months old so way too early for potty training. Although Holly Willoughby did potty train her one year old son so she claimed earlier this year. As a new mum I honestly don’t have the foggiest idea when to start potty training. But I’m sure my mother’s instinct will kick in and I will know when she’s ready!

I know many of you are mum’s and some of you are around the potty training stage I expect, so when I was asked if I would like to review and host a giveaway for the Victoria Chart Company, I thought it would be a great idea. I’m sure you can also pass on some tips to me for when my time comes around…hint hint!

Welcome back to Book Review Monday’s and the first stop on the blog tour today. This week’s review is of the kids book Chloe’s Secret Princess Club (Chloe’s Secret Club)

I’m also hosting a giveaway of the book with 3 winners. But more about that later on.

I’ve always loved reading kids books. I’m a big kid at heart! They are quick and easy reads when you have some spare minutes. In fact it took me just an hour to read Chloe’s Secret Princess Club.

Book Description

Chloe never means to get into trouble but sometimes her plans get a little out of control. With her two best friends, she forms a Secret Club dedicated to making their dreams come true – but fantasy and reality don’t always mix!

Chloe's Secret Princess Club

My Review

I love the pink sparkly front cover. It’s that perfect book for your little princess.

The book introduces us to Chloe, a natural-born dreamer. Her head is away in the clouds most of the time so she’s misses what’s going on around her.

One day she heads home from school with a very disappointing mental maths score in which her obnoxious twin brother  Arther is quick to point out. You see while the test was going on, Chloe was dreaming again. Her parents know what Chloe is like and her mum tells her that she can be anyone she wants if she only puts her mind to it.

Chloe takes this as meaning she can be a real princess. She includes two friends, Aisha and Eliza into her secret and they all form the secret princess club. All three of them come up with their own princess names, secret tasks to undertake and make sure they have lots of sleepovers.

I enjoyed reading along with all their tasks and any little girl would really enjoy this book.

I love the little extras the book includes such as the jam tarts recipe as the back of the book in which the princesses make in the book. Also a little quiz and a how-to guide on starting your own princess club.

I’m very happy to give Chloe’s Secret Princess Club 5 out of 5 stars.

Here is my latest books and chocolates giveaway. I love to run little competitions to give something back to you, and books and chocolates are two of my favourite things.
This month there are three books in the giveaway and a small box of milk tray chocolates.
Books and Chocolates Giveaway
The first book in the giveaway is called 44 Scotland Street by Alexander McCall Smith. This book is about a fictitious building in a real street in Edinburgh. It’s based on characters who have some sort of relationship with 44 Scotland Street. You can follow them through different journeys in their lives.  This is book number 1 in the series so a good place to start.

Book Description
The story revolves around the comings and goings at No. 44 Scotland Street, a fictitious building in a real street in Edinburgh. Immediately recognisable are the Edinburgh chartered surveyor, stalwart of the Conservative Association, who dreams of membership of Scotland’s most exclusive golf club. We have the pushy Stockbridge mother, and her prodigiously talented five-year-old son, who is making good progress with the saxophone and with his Italian. Then there is Domenica Macdonald who is that type of Edinburgh lady who sees herself as a citizen of a broader intellectual world. In McCall Smith’s hands such characters retain charm and novelty, simultaneously arousing both mirth and empathy. 44 Scotland Street is vintage McCall Smith, tackling issues of trust and honesty, snobbery and hypocrisy, love and loss, but all with great lightness of touch. Clever, elegant and funny, this is a novel that provides huge entertainment but which is underpinned by the moral dilemmas of everyday life and the characters’ struggles to resolve them.

I was given this beautiful silicone handmade teething necklace to review by Bo&Bel. Bo&Bel was founded by a fashion loving mummy who wanted to design and make modern and distinctive teething necklaces that enables mums to wear safe, stylish and yet practical jewellery.
Teething-Necklace-Review
I was given the chance to pick any design and colour of teething necklaces on their website. There are 4 different teething necklace designs to choose from. Geometric, Round, Rectangular and Quadrate. The necklace in the picture above that I chose is the Quadrate design.
Teething-Necklace-Review

I love the fact that there are lots of colours to choose from. So you can pick a colour to match your clothes. Perfect for the stylish and fashion conscious mummy! All the coloured teething necklaces are named after girls names which is such a cute idea! The necklace I chose is called Cleo.
Teething-Necklace-Review
When I first put the necklace on, my baby girl was mesmerised by it. Straight away her little fingers were feeling the different shapes. I think she loved the rubbery feel of the beads as well as the colours. I think the bright colours are perfect for babies and toddlers and their development. The necklace is a fantastic product for all mummy’s and I’m so pleased I have got the chance to review it.
The necklaces are easy to clean with just soap and water.
As a very safety conscious mum, I think it’s great to know that the silicone beads are made from 100% safe food grade silicone, BPA Free, No PVC’s, No Phthalates and no lead or mercury. They are FDA and SGS approved.
