The Wishing Chair by Enid Blyton is my favourite childhood book of all time. I believe I was 8 or 9 when I got it for Christmas and I couldn’t put it down. There is something about Enid Blyton’s books that turn me back into a kid. The adventures she used to write about were were just amazing and took you on a journey far, far away. I still have my own copy today, but the one shown below is the copy I want to giveaway to one of you, my readers.

The Wishing Chair tells us of the story of brother and sister Peter and Mollie, who are out looking for a birthday present one day and come across a strange little shop. In this shop they find the magical Wishing Chair which ends up taking them on adventures with their pixie friend. They meet many witches, goblins and wizards amongst other creatures along the way.
This beautiful hardback edition I’m giving away contains 3 storybooks in 1. They are:
  • Adventures of the Wishing Chair
  • The Wishing Chair Again
  • More Wishing Chair Stories
It is over 500 pages long and will keep any child occupied for a good few hours.

U, ME AND THE KIDS

Well that time has come around again to give you my list of competition wins from last month. May has been one of my quietest months for a while, but then I haven’t entered as many as normal due to my blogging every day in May challenge #BEDM, taking up more time than usual. I am as always very grateful for the competition wins that I have won.
This month I have had 11 competition wins, 9 of them from Twitter competitions with 1 from a blog comp and the other from a Facebook one. I must admit nearly all my wins are from Twitter as they are so quick and easy to enter especially when I’m on my lunch break at work.

  • A  couple of boxes of Asparagus

I haven’t had a lot of time recently to enter competitions, I have been so busy catching up on reading and gardening and working loads. So the few competition wins I’ve had I’m very grateful for. I have won 3 beautifully made cushion covers, all with a red theme. These I won on Twitter with @designacushions. I can’t wait to go out at the weekend and look for cushions for them. They will be perfect for my spare bedroom.

My other wins include a roll of plant tape. This will come in really handy for the garden. An iphone cover and some little jewellery bits from the lovely Shannon at raspberrykiss.co.uk. A gorgeous book called Style Forever from a Facebook competition and a beautiful 70th anniversary edition of Thomas the Tank Engine.

My favourite win of the month so far was from @Almondycake, it was this gorgeous Cadbury’s hamper. I am a huge chocoholic as you know by now, so these are the treats sorted out for the next few weeks!

I would love to know what is your favourite kind of chocolate?

I have had such a huge amount of success with my last couple of giveaways that I have decided to run another one for you. This time it’s a chance to win a paperback copy of the children’s bestselling book School for Stars by sisters Holly and Kelly Willoughby. It’s 2 books in 1, containing the first two books in the School for Stars series. The book is aimed at 8 to 12 year olds although I do like a good school series myself.
The School For Stars series is all about twins, Molly and Maria Fitzfoster and their new friend Pippa Burrows and their school lives at the prestigious acting/dance/drama school called L’Etoile, School for stars. The trio share the same dream of becoming superstars, while being different in their own ways.
For a chance to win this book, please fill in the Rafflecopter below. Due to postage costs this will be a UK only competition.

I am a huge cake lover as you know from my one of my older posts, on Gluten-Free Cake  and when bakerdays asked me if I wanted to review a letterbox cake for them I was so excited! They said I could browse their website and choose any design I wanted or they even said I could upload my own photo to put on a letterbox cake!
This is what arrived through my letterbox! The letterbox cake was beautifully packaged in a compact box with lots of other bits and bobs as well. There was a couple of candles and balloons with a cute note card. The cake itself was well protected in a gorgeous tin, which had little holes in so the cake could breathe. This little touch shoes me how much bakerdays care about the delivery of the cake.
The leaflet enclosed describes what bakerdays offer on their site. Including what size cakes they make and their 6 delicious flavours of cake. They are Vanilla, Chocolate, Fruit, Half & Half, Gluten Free and Dairy Free. So something for everyone!
Bakerdays offer loads of different designs for birthday cakes which they will personalise for you as well. You can check out their designs here. I will be checking out the gorgeous cupcakes they also offer for upcoming birthday parties!
So lets get back to the cake I chose! This is the design I wanted on my cake, I chose it from this range but adapted it for myself. The lovely people at bakerdays added the cute little message on the side! I love it!
I got sent the amazing chocolate chip cake, it is very moist and rich, perfect for a chocolate cake! This letterbox sized cake is perfect for 3-4 portions and is priced at £14.99.
I love this idea from bakerdays of sending a loved one a cake for what ever occasion you need.
Now here’s the giveaway!
I have been offered to give my readers the chance to win their own letterbox cake.

Please complete the Rafflecopter below to enter.
