Peter Hirsch is the director of the bathroom company Soakology, and he wrote this book about his travels around the world seeking out bathrooms. Finding out what a bathroom means in different cultures and how they differ country to country.

My Review on The Ultimate Bathroom Book

I love the cover of this book, it’s busy and just plain mad! “Crammed with crazy bathroom facts” sums it up perfectly. I am a huge fan of facts and useless bits of information so a book like this is fantastic.

My favourite fact of the book is ‘Did you know more people in the world have mobile phones than toilets?’ Isn’t that crazy? A right mind spin that is. We all know everyone has mobile phones nowadays, well in the developed world but we just assume that toilets are the norm as well.

It has kept me fascinated for hours absorbing more fun-filled facts. I love all the design work and photos used in the book. The bold colours make the pages pop and your eye’s get drawn to various fact and information boxes.

I can see care, great thought and time has been put into it and it really shows.

Earth's water supply

There are 10 great chapters that take us from historical facts about the bathroom to the journey of water and how we use it..

Each page is crammed with little facts and stories and will keep you wanting to read more. It’s the perfect book for the coffee table to have a browse through. A great conversation starter as well! Who doesn’t like toilet jokes?
