There is evidence that the giving of flowers for birthdays, reaches as far back as the middle ages. Isn’t that crazy? The French and English got the idea of assigning a meaning to each flower from Turkey as well. I love that each flower has its own true meaning, it’s like a secret language!

They say that gifting flowers reached a high during the Victorian times, as back then it was considered bad manners to say your feelings with words. It is kind of romantic isn’t it?

Did you know that lilies represent purity? Or that a single marigold is an expression of sorrow? Of course we all know that red roses symbolizes love.

All flowers are beautiful don’t you think?, but what Birthday flowers should you give an allergy sufferer as a birthday treat?

Growing up I was always a bit of a tomboy. If you ask my dad, I used to know every car make on the road when I was about 5. I used to love shouting them as we were driving along. Of course back then there were not as many as there are today.

I was obsessed with cars! As I got older I kind of lost interest, until I was old enough to drive. Then of course you needed to know where bits and bobs are under the bonnet to pass your test. So my love for cars found its way back.

Now I love to pop under the bonnet of my car and check the levels are correct. I check my tyres often for wear and tare, and also my husband’s s well!

It’s very useful to know some basic car maintenance, so I’m going to share with you some tips I have picked up over the years to help you keep safer on the roads and to try and prevent a breakdown.

This time last year my blog was still a hobby, I hadn’t earnt a penny, but I started to get offers for sponsored posts…

What was I going to do?

I was on maternity leave and that pay is practically zilch. A few extra pounds from my blog would help to make up some shortfall. So I decided after the new tax year started to take up these offers, because I was so close to the end of the current tax year I thought waiting a couple of weeks would give me time ( a year!) to get my head around the whole tax self-employed thing!

If there’s anything simple and humble that we all want from life, it’s financial freedom. You’ve most likely had horrible days where debts are creeping up on you, your utility bills need to be paid and you’ve just had to repair your car because you couldn’t get to work. Those types of situations can break us, but it’s what we do afterwards that matters the most.

Do you give up, break down and stay at home, or will you get up and put yourself back on the right track?

Happiness in life lies within our situation. When we have nothing to stress about and no financial worries, we achieve a true state of happiness and we can live our lives in peace. A bit of danger and a bit of excitement adds spice to it, but we can probably all agree that the fewer problems we have, the happier we will be.

If you want to achieve financial freedom and live happily with frugal practices, then here are a couple of tips that will help you live the lifestyle you want.
