I’m a huge fan of the Beauty and the Beast story ever since I was a little girl, you can pop over and read my review of the Book of the Film if you wish, but over to this review. As Old As Time – A Twisted Tale by Liz Braswell. This book is the third in the series of twisted tales from other Disney films. The others are A Whole New World and Once Upon a Dream.
The series are based on what would happen if key turning points did not work out as planned in the much-loved tales.
As a busy working mum I’m always looking for balanced, healthy tasty midweek meals to add to our meal plan each week. One of those meals is one of my favourite dishes – Spaghetti Bolognese. Dolmio gave us the challenge to cook up a crowd pleasing Bolognese as part of their #ThankGoodness campaign. Dolmio Bolognese sauce contains no artificial colours, flavours, preservatives or sweeteners.
They sent us a fantastic Tesco home delivery with lots of goodies as shown below ↓
Here is how we got on.
Our house is on the market right at this moment, and we have been saving for a few months now because moving to a new home can be frighteningly expensive. The good news is that there are all sorts of things that you can do to save money and reduce your outgoings.
Check out these ideas.
I always get stuck for gift ideas don’t you? For years I have been on the hunt for the ‘perfect gift’ for loved ones in my family who trust me are awkward to buy for. Now I have heard of gifts like buying a square foot of land in Scotland so the gift recipient becomes a Lord – yes I did buy this for my husband, well he was my boyfriend at the time, but I’ve never heard of buying a star for someone.
Stars are much more romantic and special don’t you think. You can look up at the night sky from anywhere in the world and see the stars. I have always been a sort of star-gazer. As a child I used to pretend they were all tiny little worlds with their lights on. Studying the solar system and space at school was one of my favourite things.
Anyway because my husband has his miniscule piece of land in Scotland I decided to give the gift of a star to my daughter. Now she is too young to know what a star is at 13 months old, but I know she will appreciate it when she’s older. Plus if you need a gift for a baby born in the family, why not name a star in their honour? It would make an exciting gift that will stay with them forever.
As they grow older, our children are constantly gaining more independence and a need to distance themselves from their parents. It’s their own way of making their mark on the world; a sort of can-do attitude with us as a safety net. It’s not something that we even think about, but it can hurt when their need to go out and do things goes against what you know to be safe, morally right or what you want to happen/do. Unfortunately, it’s a learning curb for both them and you, and it’s one of the rites of passage for growing up. That doesn’t mean that you can’t do certain things to help them – especially if they’re learning to drive.
